So many times when in difficult, unhealthy and toxic relationships we assume many things are true, when they are not. What we once thought gets morphed into a blur of everyday ‘untruths’ because of our habits and desire that things will change. Or at least our desire to hope things are not as they appear, which often is the truth that we are in a relationship that is unhealthy for us.
We think many things are true.
We take it upon ourselves to fix the problems in the relationship.
We accept things, change things, do things, put up with things in hopes that we will become the person they say we need to be in order to be loved the way we want.
There are always conditions, unmet expectations, and rule changes. We spend our time switching rapidly between them all in hopes that one will be the key to a calm peaceful relationship.
